Reality Check →
Only about 25% of the current PhD cohorts are UAE nationals and Provost Hume has made it clear that our own university WILL NOT hire these UAE Nationals back as faculty members. So, one wonders how spending millions of dollars on the PhD program will help increase the percentage of UAE national faculty members? (75% of the millions spent on the PhD program would help train students who would...

Dr. Twitter
I don’t tweet every single thought I have because some are very personal. Although I consider my tweeps as friends, I don’t share everything with them. I’ve found that the best person to confide with is my mother; she will never share what we discuss with anyone.
I felt sad for something today, and I wanted to tweet about it so badly, but I couldn’t. Instead, I imagined...

Jason Bourne's Return
Picking up Robert Ludlum’s: The Bourne Betrayal again after 2 months!! I miss Jason, I left him investigating a bombing after a prisoner’s great escape .. The novel is amazingly written! It’s so vivid that I can visualize the action scenes.
I came to know Jason Bourne through the movies, but I continued the story through the books. They’re not the same, and I’m sure...

My Summer Vacation Saga
I’m living my 1 week vacation to the MAX! You want to know the sad part, I feel too old for that!!
Perhaps I should’ve started the vacation with a couple of relaxing days; I feel like I’m running on fumes now and I still have the weekend to look forward to.
I’m going to have a relaxing day tomorrow; sleep in, watch a movie, read a book, etc.
Kicking off Relaxation Day...

Made in the 80's
I watched “Tron: Legacy” the other night, everything about it confirmed my feelings! I’m an 80’s gal :)
I didn’t get to really experience the 80’s, but there is something about that era that captivates me!
A shout out to all the 80’s souls out there, and have a nice evening :)
My greatest accomplishment
Yesterday I realized that all my accomplishments were academic! I’ve been in schools for almost 19 years, and everything I did was for school, in school and about school!
I’ve gotten a taste of the real world during my internship, and even though I’ve accomplished a lot then, it was still part of my school work.
I think that I should review my definition of accomplishment. It...
How to be Thankful
I was raised to give credit where credit is due .. Honestly, I believe it’s more of an instinct than an up bringing behavior .. Being thankful doesn’t take away from a person, on the contrary; it is a sign of a great character. However, being too thankful weirds me out!
Less is more, at least for me. Too much gratefulness makes me reconsider offering my help next time! I feel guilty...
Change is in this season!
I’m proud of UAEU for all the steps it is taking towards change. The feeling is even bigger because it is my Alma mater.
The new campus is only one aspect of the change. The attitude towards the student has changed as well, I believe. More and more responsibilities are rested on the student shoulders. At last, the university has realized that the policy of banning everything is not...
